Methodology

The Elvaris Method

Every engagement follows the same structure, whether the question is small or the estate is large. Consistency is what keeps advice honest.

01 — METHOD

Four phases, every time

How an engagement actually runs

01

Listen

The first session is almost entirely questions — about your history with money, your fears, your family, your actual goals, not just your account balances.

02

Model

We build a full picture of your current position and project it forward under a few different assumptions, so you see a range rather than a false single number.

03

Recommend, with reasoning shown

Every recommendation comes with the working shown — why this option, what it costs, what it assumes, and what the alternative would have looked like.

04

Review, on a fixed schedule

Plans are reviewed at least annually, or sooner after a major life event — a new job, a marriage, an inheritance, a health change.

02 — STANDING

03 — MEASURE

How we judge our own work

What 'good advice' means to us

What we measure
Plan resilience

We measure whether a plan still holds up under a downturn, a job loss, or a health event — not just whether it looks good in a rising market.

Client understanding

Before signing off any recommendation, we ask clients to explain it back to us in their own words. If they can't, we haven't finished our job.

Why it matters
Fee transparency

Every fee is disclosed as a rand amount before work begins, never buried as a percentage clients don't fully feel.

Review consistency

We track how many client plans are reviewed on schedule each year — currently 96% — because a plan left unreviewed slowly stops being true.
